The Mountain Hermit and Mountain Forager Knitted Garden Shrugs

Updated: Sep 19, 2021

Hello Crafties! This has truly been a year of knitting for me. Typically, I stick to my first love, which is crochet but, in the past several months, I've been knitting avidly (10 pts if you got that reference).

This little number was a community request from my Rumble audience, which makes it special to me. If you couldn't tell by the title, this garment is meant for wear in the garden. The paid version, the Mountain Forager Shrug, will feature instructions for sleeves and a nice, deep phone pocket.

The free version looks just like the one pictured and is just as nice to do yard work in. I was actually excited about designing this pattern because I do, in fact, garden myself. This was the first year that I attempted veggies (and failed 😂) but, I've learned a LOT and going forward, I'll be able to set up next season's plants for success. As discussed in episode 15 of Hey Craftepreneur!, I'm going to start growing my own herbs and whatnots for my salves and oils.

Anyhoo, I digress.

When I took the photo's for this project, I only had the Mountain Hermit Garden Shrug completed. Right now, I'm finalizing the design for the Mountain Forager Garden Shrug. The really cool thing about this knitting pattern is that the finished product is really versatile! If you don't add the sleeves and pocket, this can be worn at formal and casual events. Or you can just add the sleeves to do the same.

You all know me well enough by now to know that no pattern of mine is complete without the use of cables! I am a cable fanatic but, if you haven't attempted them yet, I have cable tutorials back on my YouTube channel.

When does this awesome pattern release?

Super Crafty Early Release: September 14th, 2021
