Early Access - Summer Ecstasy Crochet Top Pattern [Free Crochet Pattern]

Hello Crafties! As part of Uniquely Ur's birthday CAL celebration, I stitched up a festive (I think its festive) little number to wear out in the heat. Stacey's birthday was on July 18th but she ran her CAL through the month of August for those who wanted to join the fun. Head on over to her channel and give her a follow as she is a fellow crochet podcaster!

I started this project on July 4th and finished it on July 31st, 2021. I was really pleased with how it came out over all and wanted to share the sleeveless version with my community!

Backing & Straps

Find the middle of your project and place stitch markers about 10 stitches apart.

Row 1: Sl st 9 sts over, ch 1, sc in every st to the stitch marker

Row 2 - 12 : Ch 1, sc into each st across

Look at your front panel and count the number of sc you finished the straps with. We are going to begin to decrease the straps on the back to match the same width.

Row 13: Ch 1, sc2tog, sc until the last 3 sts. Sc2tog, sc.

Row 14: Ch 1, sc into base of ch 1. Skip 1 st, sc into the next.

Row 15: Ch 1, sc into base of ch 1, sc in each st across

Repeat row 13 - 15 until you get down to the number of sts you need.

Row 16: Ch 1, sc into base of ch 1. Sc2tog, sc into each st of the row

Row 17 - 35: Ch 1, sc into base of ch 1. Sc into each st across.

Cut the yarn and bind off.

Now attach some yarn to the top of the inner split and make sc until you reach the first little hump. Sc3tog then continue to sc until you reach the st before the corner. Sc3tog in the corner, sc across, sc3tog in the next corner. Sc up and around the hump until you reach that corner and sc3tog. Continue to sc up to the top on the garment and bind off.

*Optional*

With your lace weight yarn, make a chain long enough to lace through that center split we just lined in single crochet. In my sample, I chained 151. With a crochet hook, thread the chain through the split in a decorative way and lightly tie it off (maybe in a bow).

Now...

Seam together your garment with either your crochet hook or darning needle. Leave one or both sides of the bottom trimming open to improve fitting.

The instructions on how to make the sleeved version of this piece are available in the paid version of this pattern on this blog's shop page. Happy Making!
