Hello Crafties and Happy Knitting Wednesday!
Today's stitch is known as the basket rib stitch and is a nice alternative to 1 x 1 ribbing. The texture of the stitch is thick and spongy which makes it great for cold weather wear like sweaters, scarves, beanies, and blankets.
See the video tutorial below and the written instructions:
K - Knit Stitch
sl - Slip 1 Stitch
wyif - With Yarn In Front
wyib - With Yarn In Back
This pattern is worked up in a 4 row repeat.
Cast on an odd number of stitches. ( or in multiples of 2 + 1)
Row 1: Purl all sts.
Row 2 (RS) : Knit all sts.
Row 3: *K1, sl 1; rep from * to last st, k1.
Row 4: *K1, wyif, sl 1, wyib; rep from * to last st, k1.
