Welcome to Pattern Corner: A New Look at Independent Crochet and Knitting Designs 🧶✨

Good day, Crafties!

Welcome to the Pattern Corner! I'm Infiniti, an independent Christian crochet and knitwear designer with over a decade of experience in the crafts. Today, I'd like to introduce a "new" series aimed at bringing more depth and life to my crochet and knitwear designs.

I've been crocheting for about 13 years and knitting for 11 years. It took me a little while to find my rhythm with knitting, but the journey has been incredibly rewarding. Since 2017, I've been independently publishing my designs online, with over 40 different patterns available to explore.

With so many patterns created over the years, not every design has had the chance to receive the attention it deserves. Pattern Corner is designed to change that.

This video marks the pilot episode of a revived series that I previously ran under the name 'Infiniti's Craft Corner'. In this new format, I aim to share the thought processes behind my designs, material lists, and tips to help you create beautiful pieces.

Cutting Through the Noise

In today's social media landscape, it can be challenging to stand out. With so many creators sharing their work, I hope to use this series to shed light on my pattern library and help you discover new projects that inspire you. Pattern Corner is a behind-the-scenes series about the ideas, materials, and details that go into fiber arts patterns.

In earlier versions of the series, I would talk about a finished design after completing the pattern and its testing process. These videos aimed to give makers a closer look at each project. Instead of simply sharing a finished item, I'd explain the thinking behind the design and help viewers decide whether it was the right project for them.

The "new" series follows that same basic idea. Each episode will highlight a pattern from my collection and add more context to the design. Viewers can expect to learn more about the projects while getting to know the designer behind them. The series does not have a set schedule. It is meant to be a fun and flexible project rather than a strict weekly commitment. New episodes will appear as I work through my pattern library.

On my website, you can find a variety of free patterns, while my paid written patterns are available in my handmade shop. Additionally, I offer some exclusive designs as part of my pattern club, Hey Crafterpreneur, which features three different tiers for members.

Why Independent Designers Matter

Independent designers bring a personal point of view to the fiber arts community. They create patterns based on their own interests, skills, experiences, and creative goals. Personally, independent design has been a form of cathartic outlet that allows me to make and share quirky garments that I want to wear.

It also gives crocheters and knitters more choices. Every designer has a different way of writing patterns, choosing materials, shaping projects, and explaining techniques. Exploring independent designers can help makers discover new styles and find patterns that fit their interests. Pattern Corner is one way to make those discoveries easier. By discussing older and newer designs, the series can help bring attention to patterns that viewers may not have found through social media alone.

I think there are two specific things that make my patterns special:

1. I use the standard CYC abbreviations; So that my written instructions are cohesive and universally understood.

2. Some include video tutorials; In 2023, I started a lengthy project where I create video tutorials for the patterns I've created. Over the years, I've gone through and updated many written designs and added visuals to them for ease of making.

Showcasing My Designs

With over 40 designs in the world, not all of them have received the attention they deserve. Through this series, I plan to give each pattern its moment in the spotlight, sharing updates and insights along the way. Some patterns even come with video tutorials, especially my paid designs, which are a great resource for visual learners.

I invite you to subscribe to my channel and engage with the content. If you enjoy the video, please give it a thumbs up to help spread the word! Your support means the world to me and helps bring more visibility to my designs.

Thank you for joining me on this journey in the Pattern Corner! I’m excited to share more with you, and I hope you enjoy the upcoming videos. Remember, crafting is not just about the finished product; it’s about the joy and community we build along the way. Until next time, happy making!
