How to Knit the Cable Stitch

Today's tutorial covers my FAVORITE stitch ever, the cable stitch.

To do this pattern, you'll need:


stitch markers (optional)


For the sample I made in this demo, I used the following pattern:

Cast on 30

Row1: K10, P2, K6, P2, K10

Row 2: P10, K2, P6, K2, P10

Row 3: K10, P2, K6, P2, K10

Row 4: P10, K2, P6, K2, P10

Row 5: K10, P2, K6, P2, K10

Row 6: P10, K2, P6, K2, P10

Row 7: K10, P2, slip 3 sts onto cable needle and bring forward (cross left) K3 now knit the 3 sts on the cable needle, P2, K10


Repeat from row 1 until you reach the desired length of your project.
