The 'Watching Me' Knitted Sweater Pattern Material List

Hey Crafties! I'm back with another material list for my upcoming pattern release for the Watching

Me sweater. Since coming back on the scene, I haven't been able to shut up about it and I'm sure some of you wish I would 😂.

I'm excited about this design for a few reasons:

  1. I'd been wanting to 'reimagine' my friend's sweater for a couple of years now. Years! And life finally stopped kicking me long enough for me to realize that design.

  2. It's been too long since I've designed something highkey and quirky! Most of my wardrobe is black and while I love that, I also love having a piece or two that pops. The Watching Me sweater does exactly that imo and I can't wait to wear it out as the weather starts to break for fall.

  3. I have a secret obsession with the Rockwell song 'Watching Me'. Every time I see my friend's sweater or this one, I hear the tune and it makes me happy.

This sweater is comprised of a lot of fun pieces and techniques, so I hope you'll enjoy going on this little journey with me as I work toward release day! Just know, when these material lists go live, that means a new release is around the corner. I've gone back and forth with how this release was going to time out since August of this year but now, the choice has finally been made.

The Watching Me sweater will release on October 17th for Hey Craftepreneur! members. If you're new here, HC! is my pattern club where new releases happen first. It's also home to some exclusive designs, including patterns for the Sentro.

As I tie up some loose ends on a few things, I'll be able to announce a public release. To be completely transparent, the public release likely won't happen in 2025 😅.

Yarn

For my sample, I used Bernat Forever Fleece Finer for the lime green rows. It is a discontinued fiber. I've searched high and low for a decent substitute and either the texture is right and the color is wrong (or vice versa) OR the gauge doesn't match the accent yarns!

In the end, since the pattern is broken up with LBY Basic Stitch, it's safe to substitute the green yarn with another thin chenille yarn (5 CYC).

The best substitute in this case is probably Premier Just Chenile Yarn in lime. I recommend getting a cone because you'll only need 1.

You'll double your yarn quantity for sizes over L/XL.
