A Day of Remembrance ✝️🕊️🙏🏽

A Day of Remembrance for Charlie Kirk

I, like many people, was deeply effected by the assassination of Charlie Kirk. The tragic event put on display of how sick we are as a country and that how now, more than ever, we need Jesus. It's never that serious to be so hateful over a disagreement and yet, here we are. As a Christian who has been soft-spoken and bible believing during her walk, the events of 09/10/2025 revealed even more of how the world views us. Whether we're quiet or bold in the faith, the world will hate us because they first hated Jesus. So why not be bold?

In the month since, I've reflected a lot about how my gifts can be used to better serve the kingdom. Of course, in my day-to-day actions, I seek to share the virtues and values of God through service in an attempt to edify others. It's never been a secret that I love God but, I want to do...more. And though sometimes it's hard, I want to care more about what God thinks of me than what others do.

What does that look like?

To be honest, I have no clue. But that's the amazing thing about having a personal relationship with Jesus is that he'll show us if we just follow. So in my own version of Isaiah 6:8; Lord here am I, send me! I still believe that my gifts lie in helping others and so why not infuse a bit more or my beliefs in there while I figure it out? Lord knows everyone else does these days.

As children of God, we're called to labor and plant the seeds of the faith and so that's what I'll aim to do more fervently.

On this day of remembrance, I say another prayer for the Kirk family and the loss they've faced. For the people who knew and loved Charlie that are trying to continue his legacy and remain strong. And for the many people now exploring their faith that the strength of the Lord be with them.

And now with that, I've mapped out a crochet pattern chart for the Turning Point logo that I'd love to share with you. This pattern also works out for knitting, though I've only written instructions for crochet (for the folks who hate reading charts ❤️).
