And Let The Semester Begin

I am happy to announce that the first week of classes are over! Not going to lie here, I was a little worried as I waited with bated breath for the Fall 2022 semester to begin. I'm thankful to God that none of my worries seemed to be valid here.

I'm probably most excited to be back in the ceramics studio to be frank. I rediscovered my love for the medium last year and was heartbroken with how my schedule was ruined for the previous spring semester. In retrospect, it was actually a good thing that I was off campus with the passing of my mother and all.

Nevertheless, I'm back at it this semester and there seems to be a lot of fun projects in store for this class. Similarly, I'm in a fibers class that will involve basket weaving, felting, and potentially yarn spinning! I don't want to drone on and on about prospects this semester but, I will say that I have a few projects planned out that I believe hold a lot of potential.

That being said, I want to thank all of you wonderful Crafties who have supported my content through my current Back To School sale. Not only does it lift my spirits but, the financial support allows me to continue to pursue my college and small business dreams. I mean that! It's been a little rough and I've been rethinking how I'd like to move forward with video content, apart from tutorials. Yarn

hauls are nearly impossible these days in the face of wild inflation and like many others today, I'm trying to save where I can 😅.

That just makes me all the more grateful to be a knit/crochetwear designer.

Which brings me to another topic...

As always, I've been designing my rear off and for better or for worse, I seem to have over shot on what I could do in such a short timeframe, especially considering all the things I have to balance out now. So, for the time being, I'm going to play these pattern releases by ear. As I mentioned in this month's newsletter, I'm considering releasing some designs without the premium video tutorials and retroactively implementing them at a later time.

Specifically, the Oculus Cardigan is nearly ready to release and I'd love to put it out at the end of August/beginning of September. We shall see! I absolutely loved modeling it this past Monday and it was kinda funny doing the whole wardrobe change so that I could scurry off to class.

Anyhoo, enough of my ramblings, I look forward to sharing my creative journey with y'all over these next few months and I hope you'll enjoy the content that follows.

Here's a first day selfie! I was power knitting the Breath of Autumn pocket shawl that I started last

August. I did some MAJOR frogging on Saturday and now I've almost caught back up to where I was. I get bonus points because I digitized the written instructions 🤣.

Okie doke y'all, I'm going to get some much needed R&R and hit the books.

Til next time,

Happy Making!
