Christmas 2022 Crochet Ugly Christmas Sweater Design-a-long Part 2

Hi Crafties and happy Sunday!

Today, I'll be releasing part two of my crochet along for the oversized Christmas Sweater we are coming to love! (Or at least I hope y'all are).

In this episode, we'll address seaming up the sides and decreasing the armhole size to match the outrageous sleeves we'll be stitching also. I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has tagged along so far. For me, it feels like this process has been a wild ride.

As the designer, you always have to be a step ahead of your audience and that means testing the true limits of your crafting speed! 🤣 It's been a long time since I've done a series like this and it's nice to know that I've still got it.

One thing of note is that I ended up cracking open a 4th skein of the red yarn. This shouldn't be a big deal as I think most people will be

able to stick to my original skein count. My sweater currently could legitimately fit a 3x size and it should have been no surprise to me that I ran out. I think if I were to remake this project, I would make the body panels smaller... perhaps closer to the L/XL size that I am now.

Part Two of the DAL airs at 7pm CST.

Over all though, I love how everything is coming together and again, I appreciate all the engagement from my wonderful community.

Currently, I am resting my hands because I cranked out both of those sleeves in a week 😅. Next weekend, I'll be posting part 3 to this series and we'll be working exclusively on the neckline. My thinking is this, after we finish that segment, I'll run a little poll on whether or not to do a segment on attaching jingle bells and I'll post that the following Friday or Saturday *suddenly thinks a "the night before Christmas" pun*.

Til then y'all,

Happy Making!
