Maker ShoutOut: GuChet Yarns + Special Coupon

Good day Crafties!

Today I want to highlight a business I've enjoyed for around 4 years now by the name of Guchet.

Primarily, I've been a fan of their bamboo cotton and their velvet nookie yarns which are super soft but have the added benefit of working in the Sentro Knitting Machine! A few months ago, I did a video with the latter yarn in the Sentro.

Well, a few weeks ago I got a bit of happy mail from Melissa over at Guchet and this is what I got:

A skein of their brand new yarn called "This Yarn Is It" which is a smooth and soft 100% premium acrylic. It's classified as a worsted 4 weight yarn and each 6.8oz skein contains 320 yards. This new yarn comes in 54 different colors and I was sent this lovely shade of lavender.

The care for this fiber is Machine Wash - Tumble Dry - Do Not Bleach.

I was also gifted compression gloves! As fiber artists, y'all know how important it is to take care of your hands. Here are just a few reasons you may wish to use them.

Enhanced Comfort and Reduced Pain:

  • Repetitive Strain: Crocheting involves repetitive motions that can strain your hands, wrists, and forearms. Compression gloves apply gentle pressure, improving circulation and potentially reducing pain and discomfort, especially for those experiencing carpal tunnel syndrome or arthritis.

  • Warmth and Support: The gentle compression can also provide a sense of warmth and support, particularly beneficial for people with circulation issues or those who tend to get cold hands while crocheting.

Improved Dexterity and Reduced Fatigue:

  • Reduced Swelling: Compression can help minimize swelling in the hands and fingers, potentially leading to better dexterity and a more comfortable grip on your crochet hook and yarn.

  • Reduced Muscle Fatigue: Some studies suggest compression gloves may help reduce muscle fatigue, allowing you to crochet for longer periods without experiencing aches.

Who Can Benefit Most?

  • Crocheters with pre-existing conditions: If you have carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, or other hand or wrist issues, compression gloves might offer significant pain relief and improved comfort while crocheting.

  • Those who crochet for extended periods: If you find your hands getting tired or sore after long crochet sessions, compression gloves could help extend your crafting time.(Though it's always encouraged to just rest!)

  • People with poor circulation:  The gentle pressure can improve blood flow, keeping your hands warm and potentially reducing stiffness.

Things to Consider:

  • Comfort is key:  Choose gloves that fit well and provide the right level of compression for you. They shouldn't restrict your movement or feel too tight.

  • Material matters:  Look for breathable materials like cotton or nylon blends for comfortable wear during crafting sessions.

  • Not a cure-all:   Compression gloves can be a helpful tool, but they won't eliminate all discomfort. Maintain good posture, take breaks, and use ergonomic crochet tools for optimal hand health.

Overall, compression gloves can be a valuable addition to your crochet toolkit, especially if you experience hand pain, fatigue, or circulation issues. However, it's important to find gloves that fit comfortably and experiment to see if they make a positive difference in your crocheting experience.

I would usually say that my hands fit medium sized gloves genrally but the size small Melissa sent fit me perfectly!

Speaking of materials, these are made from 88% cotton and 12% spandex! They're a very comfortable fit and I wore mine for quite a while after I recorded Channel Chat 149 😅. They're very breathable and my hands were not sweaty. These gloves come in sizes small through large and in 4 sizes.

Last but not least, I got a baggie of leather tags! This variety is the foldable kind and measures 2" x 0.8" and work great on the edges of projects. They're made of PU leather and come in 10 colors.

The icing on top of this Crafty cake is that Melissa was kind enough to extend a special discount to my audience. Use the code INFINITI10 at checkout to get 10% off your order at guchet.com.

Conclusion: Thank you so much Melissa for this care package! I've been a long time customer of hers and it's always a joy opening up a parcel from her business. So if you've been looking for more small craft businesses to love, give her yarns a try!
